Plustek SmartOffice PL2546 Duplex Scanner, a collapsible, integrated high-speed sheet-fed scanner. Plustek is promoting it for government departments, institutions, enterprises, and organizations and distributed branches trying to go paperless. The PL2546 features full-color duplex scanning of thick documents and plastic cards such as insurance cards, credit cards, ID cards, and driver''s licenses. The scanner, which uses contact image sensor (CIS) technology, can scan at up to 600 by 600 dots per inch (dpi) optical resolution, according to Plustek, which also says that it can perform a duplex color scan at up to 25 pages per minute or 46 images per minute. It has a 50-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF), and includes bundled software for image editing and OCR, as well as TWAIN and WIA drivers. The single-touch function buttons enable easy scanning of typical office documents. |
