This 35mm wide-angle lens features a brilliant maximum aperture of f/1.4, the largest in its class, along with the superior natural image quality only Canon L-series lenses can deliver. It uses Canon's advanced floating mechanism and a ground and polished aspherical lens element that achieves extremely sharp, distortion free, superb picture quality from infinity to its closest shooting distance of 12 inches. With ring USM (ultrasonic motor)-powered rear focus, autofocusing is silent and fast. A wide focusing ring provides comfortable manual focus, and the filter ring remains stationary for ease of use with polarizers and other special effects filters.
